Professional Services for the Deaf Community
My Approach

I am hearing but qualified to British Sign Language (BSL) NVQ Level 6, although I am not exclusive and happy to work with both Deaf and hearing people/couples.

Counselling offers a space to explore personal issues in privacy, confidence and safety. I am trained as a humanistic counsellor, person-centred and integrative, CBT, TA, matching your personal needs, giving you time and space in which you can reflect.

I am a member of and committed to BACP's Code of Ethics. I am in regular supervision and undertake ongoing professional development. I am also registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office).

Please contact me if you would like to know more about counselling and what it involves. I am happy to discuss this with you in confidence and without obligation.

About me

I have worked within the Deaf Community for over 16 years now and continue to do so, starting off as a CSW (Communication Support Worker) within a college before going freelance and setting up DeeSigns back in 2007.

It was the experience of witnessing and feeling the frustration with the difficulties that Deaf people face when trying to access one-to-one counselling that led my passion to also become a Counsellor for the Deaf.

Although I am based in Hertfordshire, I am happy to travel within a reasonable distance or offer video counselling if necessary.
